Sustainability

27 jun to 1 jul 2022

Lisbon (Portugal)

The second United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) takes place in Lisbon, between June 27 and July 1, 2022.

Postponed since 2020, the UN Ocean Conference has as general theme: Strengthening ocean action based on science and innovation for the implementation of SDG14: assessment, partnerships and solutions.

The objective of this event, organized by the Governments of Portugal and Kenya, is to mobilize global support to implement, create, conserve and sustainably use the seas, oceans and marine resources.

Currently, human actions have a negative impact on the seas and oceans and their sustainability should be a concern for all, addressed by actions at the global, national, regional and local levels. The protection and conservation of the seas and oceans is necessary to protect the well-being of Humanity.

The participation of the various Portuguese civil society entities and organizations is an opportunity to contribute to the protection and conservation of one of the most important resources for Portugal.
