Nations’ Cup

In September, the Nations’ Cup will be bringing some of European Golf’s most talented young players to the Algarve.

From 17 to 21 September, Europe’s top amateur teams will spend a week competing in the Algarve, in what also promises to be an opportunity for some healthy conviviality in a lively atmosphere.

The holding of this international event in the Algarve provides yet further confirmation of the prestige enjoyed by the region, which, besides benefiting from its well-deserved reputation as one of the top destinations for sun and sea holidays in Europe, was also considered by the International Association of Tour Operators specialising in Golf as the world’s best golfing destination in 2000 and 2006.




Ladies Open of Portugal
Quinta da Ria, from 11 to 15 June

The Ladies Open of Portugal, a competition on the international calendar, takes place in June, at Quinta da Ria, in Vila Nova de Cacela.

The sun will be shining even brighter than ever, at the end of June in the Algarve, in the presence of the top female stars of the European golf circuit.

With a total prize money of 250,000 €, the Ladies Open of Portugal will be disputed in the challenging path of Quinta da Ria.

The event is part of the full ranking calendar of the Ladies European Tour. It counts towards the Solheim Cup and the European Order of Merit, thus regularly attracting the best players classified in the European ranking.




Portugal Masters
Oceânico Victoria Golf Club, from 16 to 19 October

In October, the world’s greatest golfers will travel to Vilamoura to take part in Portugal Masters.

Considered to be one of the leading golf events, the Masters is to hold its second edition in Portugal in 2008, with a highly attractive € 4 million “prize-money”. The event will take place between October 16 and 19, 2008 in the Victoria Golf Club, on a course designed by the mythical player, Arnold Palmer, that alternates well-positioned bunkers with lakes and waterfalls, in a continuous challenge for players.

With a guaranteed presence in the PGA’s European Circuit until 2009, Portugal Masters is sure to consolidate Portugal’s position as Europe’s finest golf destination.
