Portugal Wine and Books at ILTM Latin America

Literary tourism

09.05.2022

ILTM Latin America took place from 4 to 6 May, at the Bienal pavilion in Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, Brazil. Portugal was present, inviting participants of the largest luxury tourism fair in Latin America to visit Portugal on itineraries inspired by books and wine tourism.

During the period of the fair, Portugal highlighted literature, valuing and promoting the supply of literary tourism and praising the Portuguese language and its writers, in dialogue with the country.  As co-protagonist of Portugal's space was wine tourism and in particular wine, a product that touches all regions and attracts tourists with greater purchasing power and who stay for a longer period in the country. In recent years, Portugal has increasingly grown in tourist experiences with a focus on wine tourism.

At the 165 m2 Portugal stand, an environment was created that sought to inspire future trips through the different regions and experiences that the destination offers through books and wine. The seven regions were also presented in detail through the new edition of the SketchTour Portugal Reload.

Under the theme Portugal - Wine and Books, this presence sought to contribute to social and territorial cohesion and boost the tourism business, in total alignment with the Reactivate Tourism | Build the Future action plan and with the goals set out in the 2027 Tourism Strategy.
