This week marks another important milestone in the life of the Formação +Próxima Programme, an initiative inserted in the PRT (Pillar 4 - P4.2 Knowledge and Qualifications), which aims to massively train employees in the tourism sector, with content focused on the needs of the future, throughout the national territory and adapted to the diversity of companies.
On 19 May 2022, the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Estoril hosts a signing ceremony for the collaboration protocols under this Programme, between Turismo de Portugal and the city councils of Cascais, Oeiras, Mafra and Sintra. On the following day, it is the turn of the Hotel Industry and Tourism School of Coimbra to host the signing ceremony of the protocols between Turismo de Portugal and the Municipalities of CIM-RC. Both events will be attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Rita Marques.
The path of empowering companies in the “art of hospitality”, through the development of training content in the areas of soft and hard skills is being followed and the Schools of Turismo de Portugal, in partnership with the municipalities, as agents closer to the local realities, continue in this dynamic mobilising the strategic change that is intended to be achieved in the territory in which they operate.
Under the Formação +Próxima Programme, to date, 63 training initiatives have been carried out, 1,640 people have been trained and 80 municipalities have already joined.
