360º Tourism Companies Programme

Reactivate Tourism. Build the Future Action Plan

19.01.2023

// Framework
Inserted in Pillar 4 - P4.4 Sustainability in Companies and Destinations of the Reactive Tourism | Build the Future Action Plan, the 360º Tourism Companies Programme is a measure that aims to put companies at the centre of the sustainable transformation process of the sector.
Alongside the process of transformation of the sector, it is important to evolve in the vision of the responsibility of companies in the sector as an agent of value creation, not only for their shareholders, but also for their workers, their suppliers, the community, the territory and the environment. A smarter sector that creates more value, is more sustainable and more responsible, and naturally depends on companies that are more focused on smart growth, based on innovation and qualification, more responsible to society and more sustainable, is envisaged.

The tourism company is at the centre of the transformation process of the sector, a player that must be seen as a member of the community, in a 360º vision. This involves cultural transformation work, in a close public-private partnership, curation, capacity building and, ultimately, the establishment of a way of publicly recognising companies, based on economic, social and environmental dimensions.

// Objectives
The objective is to accelerate the process of incorporating Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) indicators into the respective organisations, challenging companies to actively rethink their environmental, social and governance practices. The focus is on the development of initiatives that include the training of tourism companies to incorporate ESG indicators into their management processes, the provision of monitoring tools, sustainability reporting templates and the promotion of public recognition of organisations.
