International Forum: Education, Employment and Training in Tourism

European Union

21.01.2021

Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, under coordination of Ministry of Economy and Digital Transition, organizes an International Forum: Education, Employment and Training in Tourism that takes place on 21 January 2021, on a virtual platform.

This event, one of three that Turismo de Portugal is developing under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, is an opportunity to gather contributions and propose solutions for the tourism sector in two fundamental components: human resources and their qualifications.

Tourism is facing one of the hardest challenges and full effects are still not clear. Therefore, it is urgent to gather national and European authorities, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations and civil society to work on recovery and development of tomorrow’s Tourism.

The event has two panels:
Education & Training in Tourism – How?, focused on education and training models and on the analysis of sector needs, aiming to promote development and adaptability to change.
Future Trends in Tourism, will debate main trends of the sector concerning supply and demand as well as how to be adapted for the new challenges.

Between panels is presented the European Commission Pact for Skills, a shared engagement model for skills development in Europe.

The Presidency’s report on the event is now available, as are the speakers' presentations, the event recording and the image report of the Forum.
