17.08.2022

Committed to contributing to the creation of more sustainable diets and, at the same time, responding to the growing demand for plant-based food, Turismo de Portugal has launched a new Plant Based Cooking Program

This training program, developed by Turismo de Portugal in collaboration with recognized experts in the field, starts on October 10th in a b-learning regime in the Schools of Lisbon and Porto, with a duration of 248 hours. This program is available for new and current professionals in the sector, as well as all those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in this field.

The change in the food paradigm, increasingly supported by scientific evidence, has been transforming habits and concepts and giving vegetable cuisine a prominent role and place in terms of nutrition and gastronomy. Also, the need to follow this trend and the changes it induces from various perspectives, namely in the promotion of a healthy and increasingly sustainable diet guided Turismo de Portugal in the implementation of the Program, now available at Digital Academy (Academia Digital) - Plant Based Cooking Program

Turismo de Portugal remains committed to assuming sustainability as a major purpose in building the tourism of the future. All projects and initiatives that are designed and implemented consider the promotion of sustainability principles along the entire national tourism value chain, either within the scope of the Sustainable Tourism Plan or within the global framework of the 2030 Agenda for the Sustainable Development.
