Turismo de Portugal is holding its Inaugural Lecture tomorrow, 26 September, at 11am, at the Estoril School of Hospitality and Tourism, to mark the official opening of the 2025/2026 academic year. This year, following an increase in the number of national and foreign applicants, Turismo de Portugal's network of schools is starting with 10% more students enrolled than last year, an increase that is the result of the attractiveness and recognised quality of the professional training that this network of schools provides, making it a safe option for the future with a high career projection.
The quality of the training provided by Turismo de Portugal's network of schools is proven by the data from the most recent study into the professional integration of its graduates. The study reveals that, six months after completing the courses, the rate of professional activity is 91%, with 79% of graduates finding a place in the labour market and 12% choosing to continue their studies. Of those who are employed, 84 per cent work in the tourism sector, and 72 per cent found a job in less than a month, which shows the strong demand for qualified talent. It should also be noted that 62 per cent of graduates earn salaries above the national average for equivalent qualifications.
During the ceremony, the Diplomas of Academic Excellence will also be awarded, which recognise the best students at national level (level 4 and 5), and the Diplomas of Academic Merit, which reward the best students from each of the schools in the network, in order to publicly recognise the talent and dedication of future professionals in the sector.
