On Monday, 2 March, the Turismo de Portugal Hotel Schools Network will launch Open Week 2026, an initiative that invites young people, parents, career guidance counsellors, teachers and the general public to learn more about the training programmes and dynamics of the 12 Hotel and Tourism Schools located throughout the country.
Until 6 March, the schools will open their doors to the community with a diverse programme that includes open classes, themed workshops, technical demonstrations, information sessions, guided tours of the facilities, and practical experiences in the areas of Cooking, Pastry, Restaurant and Bar, Accommodation, Tourism, and Sustainability.
Participants will be able to take part in creative challenges, show cooking, sensory tastings, hospitality and nature and adventure tourism activities, as well as interactive activities designed to provide direct and immersive contact with professions in the sector. Some schools also promote specific initiatives aimed at primary and secondary school pupils, as well as sessions dedicated to parents and online information sessions.
Open Week also includes initiatives such as ‘Come Spend a Day with Us’ and presentation sessions on the 2026-2027 training offer, allowing participants to learn about real paths to integration into the job market.
With the mission of training human resources in tourism, Turismo de Portugal's Hotel and Tourism Schools provide initial training for young people and continuing and executive training for professionals in the sector, complemented by digital learning solutions through their Digital Academy.
Open Week is therefore a strategic moment for anyone considering starting or reorienting their academic and professional career in tourism.
