Turismo de Portugal and the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) have signed a cooperation agreement as part of the Finance for All - Enterprises Programme, a financial literacy initiative aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which is expected to reach 6,000 companies and 50,000 workers across 118 municipalities between 2026 and 2030.
The initial phase covers 54 municipalities in 2026, subsequently expanding to a further 64 municipalities from 2027 onwards. The programme addresses topics such as financial services, digital security, credit, over-indebtedness, investments, retirement and the labour market, with the aim of promoting financial literacy as a strategic tool for the sustainability and resilience of businesses and their employees.
Developed by Nova SBE and funded by the European Union, the programme aims to strengthen essential skills for more informed and sustainable financial management through free in-person training sessions held in municipalities across the country.
As part of this partnership, Turismo de Portugal will help promote the programme among tourism businesses in the participating municipalities through its institutional network and communication channels, and may also make facilities available within its network of 12 Hospitality and Tourism Schools to host the training sessions.
In this first phase, the involvement of hospitality and tourism schools will be ensured by institutions in the Algarve, Vila Real de Santo António and Oeste.
The application period for the programme runs until 31 May, and an online information session is scheduled for 12 May at 5.30 pm, which will provide further details on the initiative and additional information about the application process.
