On 23 June 2025, Turismo de Portugal welcomed a delegation from the Italian Ministry of Tourism, which visited Portugal as part of a European project aimed at strengthening digital and sustainability skills in tourism, with the goal of learning more about the national professional training model of the Turismo de Portugal Network of Schools.
Portugal was highlighted as a European benchmark, according to a comparative analysis conducted by the Technopolis group, coordinated by Federturismo, thanks to its Digital Academy and the strong connection between theoretical and practical training within the Turismo de Portugal Network of Schools.
During the visit, some Italian projects were presented, such as the new portal Italia.it and the digital tourism hub, focusing on sustainability, slow tourism and the enhancement of small localities. The day concluded with a visit to the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Lisbon, where it was possible to see first-hand the link between theoretical training and practical experience in the field.
This collaboration reinforces Portugal's role as an example of innovation and excellence in tourism training, placing our country among the main tourist destinations in the world.
