The new Board of Directors of Turismo de Portugal will take office on 20 June 2023.
Carlos Abade takes office as President of Turismo de Portugal, succeeding Luís Araújo. In addition to Carlos Abade, Lídia Monteiro, until now Coordinating Director of the Institute's Sales Support Department, and Catarina Paiva, currently Director of ISEG Executive Education, will also be members of the new Board of Directors.
Teresa Monteiro remains as Vice-President of Turismo de Portugal. The new elements are appointed as replacements until completion of the tender procedures to fill the respective positions, which will be opened and announced shortly.
According to the note issued by the Ministry of the Economy and Sea, these appointments reflect, on the one hand, the recognition of the merit of Portugal's tourism staff, with proven track records at national and international level and a deep knowledge of the sector, through the attribution of new and higher responsibilities and, on the other, the integration of new skills.
It is understood that new impetus will be given based on continuity in terms of policies, strategy and the mission and values of Turismo de Portugal.
