The Portugal Events Programme has suspended applications for 2026, as the funding available for this year has already been exhausted. The Programme will continue in 2027, with applications expected to open from 1 September 2026.
Ministerial Order No. 4/2026/1, of 5 January, had increased the programme’s budget by 45 million euros to support the organisation of events between 2026 and 2028, an increase of 29 million euros compared with the previous regulations.
Launched by Turismo de Portugal and applicable throughout the country, including the autonomous regions, the Programme is designed to support companies, associations and other event organisers that contribute to raising the profile of the country and its regions, fostering regional development and diversifying the tourist experience.
The programme includes two funding streams for 2026: events linked to the development of strategic tourism products, with a budget of 8 million euros, and association and corporate events, with a budget of 1 million euros.
