On 30 April 2025, Turismo de Portugal President Carlos Abade and the Director of the École d'Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg, Michel Lanners, signed a cooperation protocol aimed at developing a partnership between the Turismo de Portugal Schools Network and the aforementioned Luxembourg Hospitality and Tourism School. The occasion was chaired by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, and Luxembourg's Minister for Education, Claude Meisch.
This protocol aims to establish a dynamic cooperation between both entities, through the realisation of projects that contribute to the exchange of pedagogical knowledge, in a sharing of Portuguese and Luxembourgish culture, promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of teaching, internships and pedagogical and scientific research.
Exchange between educational institutions is essential in an interconnected and demanding global context. The Luxembourg School of Hospitality has a high percentage of students who are either Portuguese or of Portuguese extraction, so this partnership symbolises the creation of synergies between schools that recognise the value of collaboration and joint learning, fostering the sharing of good practices, the exchange of experiences and the creation of knowledge networks that allow students to be better prepared in the current global and competitive market.
This cooperation thus opens up new opportunities for students and teachers, through the synergies that the various joint projects, internships and international experiences provide. It also represents an investment in the future by making it possible to train professionals who are more prepared, versatile and aware of the importance of hospitality, sustainability and innovation, highlighting the transformative role of tourism in communities and in the world.
