Turismo de Portugal is supporting and taking part in ESG WEEK 2026, which takes place on 22 and 23 April, reinforcing its commitment to promoting a model of tourism development based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. The initiative, organised by the Portuguese Association of Business Ethics (APEE), brings together companies, experts and public bodies to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainability.
Turismo de Portugal’s participation forms part of its strategy to promote sustainability as a key factor in the sector’s competitiveness, in line with national and European guidelines. In this context, the Empresas Turismo 360º Programme stands out, supporting tourism businesses in integrating ESG practices into their management, promoting training, access to diagnostic tools and the promotion of projects with a positive environmental and social impact.
Now in its 5th edition, ESG WEEK is consolidating its role as a national benchmark in the promotion of environmental, social and governance practices. Over the course of previous editions, the initiative has established itself as a key forum for dialogue and reflection among companies, experts and public bodies, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and the adoption of more responsible and sustainable practices within organisations.
Through this participation, Turismo de Portugal reinforces its role as a driving force for sustainable transition in the sector, promoting the adoption of business models that are more resilient, innovative and aligned with the future challenges facing tourism.
