13.03.2026

Turismo de Portugal has awarded €4.5 million to 12 tourism projects, which together represent a total investment of around €11 million. The contract signing ceremony took place today in Porto and was presided over by the Minister for the Economy, Manuel Castro Almeida, and the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Pedro Machado.

The supported projects are spread across the North, Centre, Alentejo and Ribatejo regions. The beneficiaries include public, private and associative entities, with projects focusing on the development of areas such as Nature Tourism, Gastronomic Tourism, Active Tourism, Wellness Tourism and Cultural and Heritage Tourism.

Launched in February 2025, the Crescer para o Turismo (Growing with Tourism’ Support Programme), with a budget of €30 million, aims to foster the sustainable development of regions, with a particular focus on social and environmental responsibility, as well as on investing in skills development, innovation and the enhancement of tourism resources, thereby reinforcing the role of tourism as a driver of social cohesion and economic growth.
