Following on from the success of the 1st edition, which qualified around 800 professionals in the sector between 2024 and 2025, Turismo do Algarve, Turismo de Portugal and its network of Hospitality and Tourism Schools in Faro, Vila Real de Santo António and Portimão are now launching the 2nd edition of the "Skills for the Future Algarve" programme, which will run from November 2025 to May 2026.
The initiative renews the joint commitment to enhancing human capital, sustainability and innovation in tourism, offering online training courses and face-to-face bootcamps designed to develop technical, digital and behavioural skills that meet the new demands of the sector.
With a varied schedule and free attendance, the programme is aimed at professionals, entrepreneurs and entities in the region's tourism sector, and all participants are certified.
The 2025-2026 edition introduces new themes and practical methodologies, ranging from Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Business, Energy and Water Efficiency, Conflict Management and Inclusive Customer Service, to Technical Languages and Financial Training.
The first courses start on 4 November, with online training such as ‘Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Business’, ‘English Customer Service’, ‘Marketing and Digital Media’ and ‘Quality Customer Service’.
Between November and December, face-to-face bootcamps will be held on ‘Luxury Tourism’ (EHT Algarve) and ‘ESG Reporting in Tourism’ (RTA), followed in early 2026 by sessions dedicated to topics such as ‘Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Tourism’, ‘Water Efficiency Measures under the Save Water Seal’, ‘Talent in Tourism: Attracting, Engaging and Retaining with Purpose’ and ‘Algarve, a Safe Destination’.
