Turismo de Portugal is participating in the
36th edition of Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market (BTL) 2026 with a programme focused on internationalisation, sustainability and innovation, aiming to strengthen the destination's positioning in strategic markets. Its presence includes its own agenda of initiatives, as well as participation in sessions promoted by partners in the sector.
- Exhibition space affirms Portugal as the ‘Stage of the World’
In Pavilion 1, Turismo de Portugal occupies an area of 216 m² dedicated to promoting major events planned for different regions between 2026 and 2028. The space highlights the country's capacity to host international events and includes gastronomic offerings from three Turismo de Portugal schools: Estoril, Lisbon, and Setúbal. The space also includes a DJ who will reveal the line-ups for the main summer festivals.
- Hosted Buyers Programme consolidates B2B dimension
Between 25 February and 1 March, the Hosted Buyers programme will take place, organised in partnership with BTL and TAP, with the aim of strengthening the fair as a global marketplace in the B2B segment. On 25 and 26 February, pre-scheduled meetings will be held between national companies and around 200 buyers from 42 source markets, 114 of whom are part of the contingent of hosted buyers invited by Turismo de Portugal and TAP.
- Agenda highlights climate action and the Empresas Turismo 360º Programme
On 26 February, at 11:00 a.m., in the AVK Auditorium (Pavilion 5), Turismo de Portugal will present the main lines of action, strategic objectives and methodological approach within the scope of the process of building the Agenda for Climate Action in Tourism 2030, in line with the guiding principles, as part of the future Tourism Strategy 2035. In the same space, at 4:30 p.m., the PET 360º | ESG Engaged Experience session will be held – Companies that transform. People who inspire. This is an exclusive networking event for members and partners of the Empresas Turismo 360º Programme, which will feature the presentation of the programme's new Ambassadors.
Also on the morning of the 26th, between 10:30 and 11:00, on the Better by AVK Stage (Pavilion 3), there will be a joint presentation of the FAROL and FOREST digital platforms, dedicated, respectively, to intelligent territory monitoring and corporate ESG reporting.
- Extended participation in sector initiatives
The institutional presence extends to other moments of the BTL programme. On the 26th, Turismo de Portugal will participate in the presentation of the CPLP Geoparks Network Forum (Geoparks stand) at 3:30 pm and in the Festival + Accessible and Beach + Accessible Awards ceremonies, starting at 4:00 pm at the ERT Lisbon stand.
