As part of International Volunteer Day, celebrated today, 5 December, the Lisbon School of Hospitality and Tourism (EHTL), MAKRO and CASA – Homeless Support Centre are joining forces in a charitable initiative to prepare and distribute meals to homeless people in the city of Lisbon.
Throughout the day, around 400 full meals will be offered, including a starter, main course and dessert. EHTL students and teachers will be responsible for preparing and packaging the meals, while all the necessary products and ingredients will be provided by MAKRO. CASA will be responsible for distributing the meals.
In 2024, the network of 12 Tourism Schools in Portugal deepened its social commitment by promoting opportunities, inclusion and community responsibility through more than 12,500 actions that contributed to positively impacting around 55,000 people. In addition, the network appointed 12 sustainability ambassadors who supported the implementation of 138 projects aimed at promoting fairer, more inclusive and resilient communities.
