The new edition of the Michelin Guide Portugal 2026 distinguishes 44 restaurants with one Michelin Star, announces a new two-star establishment, and confirms the growing diversity and quality of Portuguese gastronomy, reinforcing the country's international profile through its cuisine.
The Michelin Guide was revealed yesterday at the Savoy Palace hotel in Funchal, at a gala that once again brought together chefs, industry professionals, and national and international guests. Turismo de Portugal is associated with this initiative as a key partner of the guide, recognising the central role of gastronomy in establishing the country as a destination of outstanding tourist excellence.
Among the highlights of this edition is the achievement of a new two-Michelin-Star restaurant in Lisbon. With this distinction, Portugal now counts nine restaurants in the two-star category, reinforcing the country's position within the international gastronomic landscape. The 2026 selection also registers ten new restaurants distinguished with one Michelin Star, bringing the total number of establishments in this category to 44. This growth reflects the vitality of Portuguese dining and the recognition of a new generation of chefs who have contributed to the innovation and promotion of national cuisine.
The Guide also highlights two new restaurants awarded the Bib Gourmand, a distinction that recognises the best quality-to-price ratio, and the entry of a new restaurant into the Green Stars community, dedicated to projects committed to more sustainable gastronomic practices. In total, the Michelin Guide Portugal 2026 selection comprises 210 restaurants, of which 131 are recommended, including 34 new entries.
The partnership with the Michelin Guide has contributed to showcasing the talent of chefs, the quality of national produce, and the diversity of the country's regions. Gastronomy thus asserts itself as one of the pillars of the tourist experience in Portugal, capable of attracting visitors from around the world and reinforcing the cultural and economic identity of its territories.
