Turismo de Portugal signs a Luso-Brazilian Memorandum of Understanding

​​The 13th Luso-Brazilian Summit held on 22 April in Lisbon included the signing of a Luso-Brazilian Memorandum of Understanding between the Presidents of Turismo de Portugal and Embratur, one of the 13 documents signed at this summit.

The signing act was preceded by a bilateral meeting between both bodies where several topics were addressed, namely cooperation in the area of gaming, digital promotion and marketing, and tourism products.

This Memorandum of Understanding aims to establish and boost institutional relations between Embratur and Turismo de Portugal, and the exchange of good practices in the field of international tourism promotion. The actions, established in partnership, are related to the international promotion of products, services and destinations of Brazil and Portugal with regard to good practices in the area of international promotion and attraction of foreign tourists and reciprocal support for the promotion of destinations Brazil in Portugal and Portugal in Brazil.

The signature of this instrument also foresees the establishment of a Steering Committee with representatives from both parties, which will be responsible for establishing an Action Plan, complementary to this Memorandum.

Bilateral cooperation in the tourism field between Portugal and Brazil has been dynamic, with the signature of several legal instruments framed within the framework of the 2005 Cooperation Agreement in the Tourism Field between the Portuguese Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil being particularly noteworthy the:

_ 2013 Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Tourism of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Ministry of Economy of the Portuguese Republic and Turismo de Portugal

_Cooperation Protocol between the Ministry of Economy of Portugal and the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil within the scope of the REVIVE Programme, signed in March 2020.​
