Turismo de Portugal reinforces commitment to sustainability and presents 2024 results

Sustainability

08.10.2025

In 2024, Turismo de Portugal consolidated internal processes, strengthened monitoring mechanisms and expanded initiatives that contribute to the continuous improvement of its environmental, social and governance performance, in line with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD - EU Directive 2022/2464).

As part of this, it organised a series of webinars on Responsible Tourism; developed the Tourism 360º Companies Programme, which aims to commit companies to sustainable development; took part in various initiatives and groups associated with climate, environmental citizenship and sustainable mobility in the tourism sector; promoted communication and marketing campaigns to inspire those visiting Portugal and transform trips into authentic and sustainable experiences; and launched the Integrate for Tourism programme, promoted by the 12 Hotel and Tourism Schools, which work daily to build capacity in the sector and create a school culture that is more environmentally and people-friendly.

Sustainability is a permanent commitment that guides the way Turismo de Portugal manages its resources, supports its employees and works closely with companies, communities and partners. With this vision, Turismo de Portugal strengthens its role in building a more resilient and competitive destination, based on transformative tourism that promotes territorial cohesion and boosts local economies.
